Understanding indoor climate

HELVAR SENSES™ gets the most out of a building. It ensures sustainable, high-quality buildings and a better user experience. By measuring various environmental factors and providing valuable reports and advice, Helvar Senses can continuously improve and adapt buildings throughout their life cycle. The lighting system is the most finely tuned system in the building. By adding climate sensors to the lighting management system, an awful lot of useful information can be collected.

  • Optimise the building for maximum comfort and minimum operating costs
  • Reduce unnecessary products by combining multiple sensors in one device
  • Learn know the building by automatically processing data into valuable insights

How?

The sensors of a light management system are the key to understanding the use of the building. Applying climate sensors in the light management system opens up many possibilities.

The climate sensors measure temperature, humidity, CO₂, tVOC, air pressure, noise, movement and light. These elements determine the climate in the building. By controlling the right values, an optimal climate can be created in the building. A climate that promotes the well-being and performance of the people in the building.

Scalable

Helvar Senses can be applied within various Helvar ecosystems, making it suitable for a variety of applications and integrations:

  • Helvar ActiveAhead: Helvar Senses is directly applicable within ActiveAhead. The data generated can be easily read via the ActiveAhead app, giving users quick insight into their lighting performance and energy consumption.

  • Helvar Imagine: Within Helvar Imagine, the extensive set of environmental data can be shared via BACnet with external systems, such as building management systems. This allows smarter control of buildings and the creation of a healthier and more comfortable working environment.

  • Helvar Insights: Through the Wellbeing module within Helvar Insights, historical data is made insightful. Optimisations can also be made within Insights through AI. This ensures improved wellbeing, energy efficiency and smarter building management.

Light
Light is essential and improves well-being, productivity and safety

Occupation
Understand exactly how spaces are used and reduce unnecessary energy waste

Temperature
Use temperature data to detect problems with HVAC or building insulation

Humidity
Get the right balance of humidity for the perfect climate in your rooms

VOCs
Protect your air quality from volatile organic compounds

eCO₂
Measuring CO₂ levels is important to understand air quality

Sound
Use sound data to better understand your spaces and create special zones

Air pressure
Ensure optimal airflow through your building by maintaining the right pressure

Add-on sensor: Aranet4

This additional sensor connects wirelessly to the 3901 sensor and offers flexibility in terms of free placement and additional measurement capabilities. Calibration and custom placement also result in improved accuracy.

  • CO₂ (NDIR - Nondispersive infrared)
  • Temperature
  • Air pressure
  • Relative humidity

Optimise energy performance

Minimise energy waste in the operational phase of your projects. By combining indoor climate data such as HVAC and occupancy, you get a unique picture of the performance of your spaces and can optimise them based on actual usage.

Design spaces for people

Whether you are creating spaces for employee workplaces, students in schools or patients in a hospital - the right environmental conditions are crucial for supporting health, well-being and productivity.

Keep up to date with guidelines

Legislation such as the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) already require reporting in areas such as environmental impact, employee health and safety, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Achieve building certifications

To date, 31 criteria of WELL, LEED and BREEAM can be influenced by a Helvar solution with environmental sensing. Building certifications are an increasingly popular choice to increase property value and attract tenants.

The best of both worlds

With our hybrid lighting management system, a building is ready for the future. By connecting wireless ActiveAhead components to the Imagine system, lighting in a building is controlled uniformly. The ActiveAhead groups appear together with the connected DALI devices in the Imagine system, making it easy to work with both wireless and wired devices. Both systems can use the same logic for lighting control, ensuring consistent operation.

  • Wired

    Helvar Imagine
