HAVEP, founded in 1865 by Hendrik van Puijenbroek, has grown into a leading manufacturer of durable workwear in the Netherlands. The family company, which has still been based at the same location in Goirle since 1888, engaged Paul de Ruiter Architects to design a new building that reflects both HAVEP's rich history and sustainable ambitions.

The new design includes a 3,000 m² main building and a 6,000 m² warehouse. The main building, with a transparent and inviting ground floor, houses the Texperience Center (a modern exhibition space for HAVEP's products and methods), a workshop and a restaurant. The offices are located on the first floor and connected to the ground floor by two circular voids, making all processes visible.

We integrated the light management system on behalf of Batenburg Installatietechniek. HAVEP has a sustainable business vision and the light management system also had to comply with this. Most lighting is controlled by means of sensors. For manual operation, we have control panels in different rooms and one central touchscreen at the counter. Via the touchscreen, lighting can be controlled and adjusted in various lighting scenes and groups.

"For 2 years our employees have been working very happily in a very pleasantly lit working environment, thank you for that! You'll never walk alone!"

HAVEP

The new HAVEP building is flexible in use and designed for easy future adaptations without demolition. This future-proof design emphasises HAVEP's sustainable entrepreneurial vision and contributes to the well-being of the users through optimal daylighting, green views and a design that encourages meeting and movement. These sustainable objectives can be well achieved with our Helvar light management system.
