Designing, furnishing and improving an operating room (OR) is a costly and time-consuming process. Until the room is built and furnished, it proves difficult to oversee all the consequences of choices. TNO's OK experimentation environment, unique in Europe, helps anyone involved in the construction or remodelling of an OR to set up the space and thus experience, test, evaluate and improve the future OR in real life.
Helvar's lighting control system was used in the project, functional lighting and the white+green LED combination (made by Lycalux) can be switched in various scenes and each panel can be dimmed and switched manually. The control was implemented on an IPAD, making it easy for any user to operate.
