The Ommelander Hospital has a new location in Scheemda. The brand-new hospital was built sustainably and energy-efficiently. Many measures have been taken to make the hospital as energy-efficient as possible. For instance, transparent solar panels have been installed in the façade and sedum has been applied to the roofs. The entire hospital is equipped with the Helvar light management system. With hundreds of light and motion sensors and time controls, the light management system also makes a major contribution to the energy efficiency of the building.
All lighting in the hospital, both DALI and switchable, is included in the Helvar system. A link between the Helvar system and BACnet ensures that the lighting in the corridors and common areas can be controlled via the BMS.
In the patient rooms, each bed has its own input unit. This ensures that different lighting circuits and controls can be applied. For example, the patient has the option of switching the general, reading, and mood lighting via a control panel and the call system handset. There is also a special switch for the doctor that provides plenty of light when needed.
The many windows in the hospital bring a lot of daylight into the building. Daylight and motion sensors were therefore used in the outpatient departments and in the offices, corridors and waiting rooms. These ensure that lighting is not too bright and unnecessary.
In the loft, restaurant and rest room, RGB lighting is also controlled via DMX through the Helvar system.
