Van Marcke

At Van Marcke, you will find everything to do with plumbing and heating. Van Marcke has been around since 1929 and in 90 years has grown into a market leader with around 1,600 employees in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Malta and America.
In early 2019, Van Marcke opened a new headquarters and distribution centre in Kortrijk. The building is no less than 90,000 m2 in size, completely CO2 neutral and water independent. In addition to the heat and water installations, the lighting management system is also a key component in the sustainable building.

Choosing Helvar

To make a good choice, Van Marcke compared different light management systems on the basis of test rigs. Based on the test results and price, the Helvar system was chosen. User-friendliness, flexibility, different detection options and compatibility with different light manufacturers were the deciding factors.

The system

The Helvar lighting management system controls all lighting, both in the distribution centre and in the office building. In the distribution centre, the lighting is controlled fully automatically using high-bay sensors. Many sensors are also used in the office building. For the SAPPceiling® climate ceilings, we used our special 315/SAPP. This fits perfectly into the ceiling grid and can be mounted easily. We also control the blinds, both manually and automatically with a weather station.
By attending training, Van Marcke's technical department was able to configure the system itself.
