The Elkerliek hospital in Helmond has chosen DALI lighting management in the hospital's renovated Oncology department. The ward has been designed to evoke a living room atmosphere to make patients feel calm and comfortable.
On the nurse call panel, patients themselves have the option of dimming the lighting. In addition, an LED colour control makes it easy to set the atmosphere per patient during treatment. DALI-DMX routers were used for this purpose for easy integration between these protocols.
The corridor lighting in the new ward is also equipped with DALI luminaires. This allows the lighting to be evenly dimmed back at night, providing a positive experience for patients when they are being wheeled down the corridor on a bed, where previously the luminaires were switched alternately and brought with them a restless light image.
