Maastricht
MECC Maastricht is one of the larger convention and event centres in the Netherlands. A large-scale renovation to modernise the complex started in 2019. On behalf of Equans and Spie and in close cooperation with MECC's facility managers, we supplied the lighting management system for the entire complex.
In the complex, all luminaires are controlled by 49 DALI routers. Motion sensors are installed in the meeting and breakout rooms, which switch on the lighting as soon as someone enters the room. The motion detection is also transmitted via BACnet to the building management system to release climate control. The link also allows lighting control via the climate control system control panels.
The central areas are controlled by motion sensors and time controls. A 329 daylight sensor ensures that the light level in these areas is coordinated with the light level outside.
To control the hall and façade lighting, we created custom visualisations that can be accessed from any device. MECC managers can use the visualisation of the façade lighting to set the DMX lighting in the columns to a desired colour. This can be done through various presets, e.g. for carnival and other holidays, but a colour can also be chosen per column. The changes can be stored in freely definable presets.
The lighting in the event halls can also be fully customised via a customised visualisation. Via a floor plan, a hall can be selected after which each luminaire can be set individually.
The status of the lighting is automatically monitored and burning hours are read. Errors or problems are reported at an adjustable frequency via an automatic mail
