New Church
Delft
The Nieuwe Kerk in Delft; everyone in the Netherlands knows the building. The church of William of Orange's mausoleum and the royal tombs. On 10 November 2017, after a festive opening, the five-year renovation period came to an end. The church has been craftily restored and also meets current standards in terms of installation. We were commissioned by Spie Delft to equip the Nieuwe Kerk with the lighting management system and realise integration with the other systems present.
The lighting management system controls all the lighting present. From the DALI luminaires to the switchable lighting groups via a relay. The autonomous system is mainly switched via the alarm. When entering the church, the alarm is switched off and the lighting is set to one of four pre-programmed scenes. On leaving the church, the alarm is switched on again and the lighting goes into night mode.
What is special about the system in the New Church is that the lighting can also be adjusted down to luminaire level at any time, completely as desired by the user. Via a customised visualisation on an iPad and a 21" touchscreen, in addition to the pre-programmed scenes, a lighting group can be selected and adjusted, e.g. all downlights. But it is also possible to select a zone in the church after which it is zoomed in and only the lighting groups that are in this zone remain. It is then possible to switch and dim per lighting group but also per luminaire and adjust the light colour of certain luminaires. Once the lighting has been adjusted as desired, the changes can be stored in special scenes and these scenes can be called up again at any time.
For optimal user-friendliness, we also realised the integration of all relevant systems in the New Church. This means that video images from the security cameras can be viewed on the iPad and the 21" touchscreen, the malfunctions of the heating system can be read out, the temperature can be read out and controlled and the clocks can be operated. A floor plan also shows which doors are opened.
