Thermote & Vanhalst (TVH), a global player in the material handling, industrial and agricultural machinery industries, has inaugurated a new headquarters 'The Hub' in 2021.

The 13,000 sq m building is characterised by its sleek and light-rich design and consists of a visitor centre, auditorium, a showroom, meeting rooms, office space and a restaurant with patio. The design paid close attention to people's comfort in the building, ergonomics and efficiency.

Various systems ensure a pleasant indoor climate in the building. The lighting management system also makes an important contribution. Flexibility, simplicity of use and future-proofness were the main pillars here. The ability to communicate with other systems was also a must. For instance, each conference room has a touchscreen that controls lighting, blinds and TV screens. In addition, a link was made with the alarm system. As soon as the alarm is triggered, the entire lighting in the building and car park comes on. This not only deters burglaries but also ensures optimal image recording from the cameras.

The building is equipped with sensors that ensure the lighting is on at the right time. The astro clock combined with the calendar function built into the system ensure that the lighting in the car park comes on in the morning before the first people arrive.
