Wolfert Dalton College

The Wolfert Dalton, a small-scale secondary school, has a new school building on the Argonautenweg in Rotterdam. Commissioned by Bam Bouw & Techniek, we realised the lighting management system.
In the school, one assembled cabinet with several 950 routers for DALI-2 controllers was installed on each floor. In the caretaker's area, a 21-inch touchscreen was installed to control the lighting in the entire school and display malfunctions of various systems. A 10-inch touchscreen was used to control the lighting in the gymnasium.
Using sensors, a timer on the touchscreen and via the alarm, the corridor lighting can be switched off and on. The corridors can also be controlled individually via the touchscreen. The rooms have a switch that allows the luminaires to be switched on, off and dimmed.
In the classrooms and individual rooms, lighting is controlled by daylight and motion sensors. The sensors ensure that the lighting only comes on when someone is present in the room. When there is sufficient daylight, the lighting is automatically dimmed back to keep the light level constant and save as much energy as possible.
Faults and alarms come in via a 942 input unit. A BACnet gateway ensures that these can be forwarded to the BMS. The overtime timer on the touchscreen is also forwarded to the BMS.
The outdoor lighting is switched using relays and the astronomical clock from the routers. This way, the outdoor lighting is automatically switched on when the sun is down and off again as soon as the sun is up. The outdoor lighting can still be individually switched via the 21-inch touchscreen.
