Lighting management is an important part of any building, just like so many other disciplines. For high reliability, it is important that all disciplines can function autonomously. This does not prevent integration and interconnection. In addition to the capabilities of Helvar's light management system, we offer our customers very complete solutions for integration with HVAC, for example.
Helvar's membership in the DiiA and the Enocean Alliance, among others, its partnership with Tridium and our expertise in various software solutions mean we have many opportunities to integrate different systems intelligently.
Integration with HVAC improves energy efficiency and ease of use. Often, the sensors of the lighting management system are also used to control the climate system, for example by activating it only when a room is in use.
It is also common to use a single control panel to control both lighting and climate control.
By integrating different systems, a single user-friendly platform can be realised from which the systems can be operated. Via a central touchscreen or via room controls.
Our touchscreens are often placed in central locations, such as at the reception desk. This is also an ideal place to receive notifications of malfunctions of various systems or a notification from the MIVA toilet.
Perhaps our most prized integration is interfacing with the alarm system. This is usually done hardware-wise via an input unit. The link ensures that the lights turn on when the alarm is switched off and off again when the alarm is switched on.
For optimal user-friendliness, we realised the integration of all relevant systems in the New Church. This means that video images from the security cameras can be viewed on the iPad and the 21" touchscreen, the malfunctions of the heating system can be read out, the temperature can be read out and controlled and the clocks can be operated. A floor plan also shows which doors are opened.
